I am Sunkanmi Olawuwo. I am part of the Cohort 8, Moat Academy Web development bootcamp. Our Bootcamp started on July 31 2018, I am currently on week three and this is a brief entry of my experience so far at the bootcamp.
A brief experience as a Field Engineer with an artificial intelligence Company opened my eyes to the beauty of Web applications. Having no previous knowledge of any of the web development tools, I enrolled at Moat Academy. From the very first day, I knew I was in the right place. The approach to teaching is world class and the motivational classes gave me a self -belief that I could achieve excellence. The bootcamp is aimed at producing graduates that are job-ready developers in a short time frame. This dictates the tune and sets the pace for the day to day activities at the bootcamp with in-depth analysis of topics, interactive classes and class exercises.
The bootcamp so far is a mirror image of what to expect out there as a web developer as we are bombarded with daily assignments and mini-projects every week.
So far, I have designed a sample school website using pure HTML table as my week 1 project, for my week 2 project, I designed a prototype website for a bank using HTML and CSS. my week 3 project is a responsive website for a sample real estate company where I used HTML, CSS and bootstrap classes. I experience a remarkable improvement every week.
With seven more weeks to go, this is just a tip of the iceberg, my cohort mates and I still have so much to learn before the end of the program.
