The bootcamp which started with an Induction session on October 16, 2017 to prepare the participants for the journey ahead: the journey to becoming top-notch in the software industry.
With an intensive 6-hours coding workshop every day followed by their personal study with our recommended 8-steps to self-study.
One very interesting part of the training is weekly projects; we always look forward to see creativity and ingenuity on display by each participant on the presentation day. One of such is the second week projects’ presentation day, in this post two of our participants, Wisdom Eromosele and Ukaegbu Emeka whose second week projects featured in our last post shared their experience so far:
“I want to say since I came here it has been fun all the way; training is 100% hands-on! Programming has now become easy for me …” -Wisdom Eromosele
One of the best decisions I made this year was coming to Moat Academy. I studied Business Administration, and before Moat Academy I had never written a line of code. I thought I could teach myself online, so I started downloading HTML videos, but I got confused after watching the first video, I told myself that programming is too hard and that it was not for me. Then I heard that there are good coding bootcamps in Lagos. So I started doing my research, I saw many boot camps online but I chose Moat Academy after I had a chat with a former Moat Academy boot-camper.
I want to say since I came here it has been fun all the way; training is 100% hands-on! Programming has now become easy for me, and I believe it is because of the way the curriculum is structured; the instructors are good and they are very patient with us. After the first week we did a project and I designed a wonderful site with just HTML and a little CSS. The second project I did was with CSS which was at the end of the second week. I am gradually becoming a pro… I’m happy I came here; we are one big happy family. Apart from coding, we get to see motivational videos, now I believe in myself and in getting the job done (no more excuses)!
“From the very first day up till now I wouldn’t have asked for a better place, we have been treated as family, and I must say, the trainers are well qualified and really know how to pass across the knowledge”- Ukaegbu Michael Emeka
As the saying goes, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step”. I was intrigued and wanted to learn more about web programming after I took an online course. After much contemplation on whether to learn it myself or through an instructor-led coaching, I finally took the bold step to search online for the best place to learn then I found Moat Academy and something within struck me signifying that finally I have found the right organization. From the very first day up till now I wouldn’t have asked for a better place, we have been treated as family, and I must say, the trainers are well qualified and really know how to pass across the knowledge. They keep you in suspense on the next thing to be taught the following day. Finally, I want to thank the owners of Moat Academy for this initiative. May God bless them. If you want to learn the rudiments of how to code, come to MOAT ACADEMY
